How to finance A4R social entrepreneurship?

Social entrepreneurship has in recent years noted as a business method where the base value is based on the social bottom line as well as the financial. In keeping with a generation that increasingly value time over money, it is no longer Gordon Gekko and 50 cents that goes primarily to carry forward capitalism tabs. “Money never sleeps,” but it makes known that we humans, and most of us need a somehow cleanly conscience to sleep well at night. However, it may be a challenge to work with socially sustainable business models in Uganda without first knowing the methods that exist in this area. Good social values translated the not necessarily a good business foundation. So when are really an entrepreneur to a social entrepreneur, and how one will attain skills a social entrepreneur needs?

What characterizes an A4R social entrepreneur?
Social Entrepreneurs are often market-oriented and purposeful, and it has often been said that they are using commercial methods and tools to achieve their goals. Social entrepreneurship for A4R cannot be categorized by selected corporate form or funding.

The following commonalities go yet again at A4R
• Social focus: The primary objective is to solve social challenges or problems in society
• Entrepreneurship: Involves the creation of new businesses or activities, and create lasting structures
• Innovation: The methods and solutions represent something new in relation to what has been done before
• Market orientation and focus on its earnings and sales to achieve financial sustainability
• The target groups involved in high level: Social entrepreneurs in A4R is very responsive above the target group’s needs
• Change Agents: They are front runners for social change in society

Social entrepreneurship involves the establishment of a business whose main goal is to solve a social or societal problem in an innovative way, using methods and tools from the business world.

Social challenges
A4R addressing many different social challenges and problems, and uses several of the contractor’s methods in their work. This generally means building structures in order to solve social problems in a lasting and sustainable way. Often this means setting new standards. The primary goal of social entrepreneurship for A4R is social value creation, not profit maximization. Monetization is however necessary to achieve the main objective, and any surplus will generally be reinvested in order to promote this objective. Set in a philanthropic perspective, social entrepreneurship helps to make society better for the people who live in it. Through social entrepreneurship can drive with society stranger’s tasks without economic dependence from external actors. This results in a greater freedom over corporate decisions that may be of importance for future development. At the same time also forms a more economical predictability, which is important for A4R projects and program. In addition to the social challenges, there are a number of other challenges for social change that requires professionalism, competence and competitiveness.

Examples of these organizations are Ashoka, and The Schwab Foundation www.schwabfound.org

For A4R it is about understanding the need for the user of the service or product A4R offers. A4R want to use the knowledge to create positive social change through new solutions in a realistic context. A4R has received an incredible amount of goodwill and help along the way but need more of gifts and things, a printer here, the equipment there, we need a car, uniforms, help with budgeting and business plan, good advice, car decor, free sales work, conferences and courses, warehouse space and so on.
This is worth as much as money.

For A4R trades social entrepreneurship on how to balance the double bottom line by coming into the labor market by offering counseling and workshops. A4R to promote greater tolerance. Important learning so far is that when it comes to innovation as there is no sitting on the definitive answer. Having a duplex target has A4R challenged over boundaries and priorities. There is nothing altruistic in there to help – while making a profit based business often portrayed and perceived as selfish motivated which aims own profits. This has led to something of an identity crisis for the branding of A4R – while it also has created an internal conflict for A4R as an entrepreneur in relation to the motivation as a basis for the operation and development of A4R. It will they be a win-win situation also for local businesses in Uganda by A4R creates these resources and create work. A4R has defined itself as a social action – in the same category as other organizations working for greater integration in society. For A4R goal has always been to create a solution to a social problem and at the same time able to live by it. It is difficult to combine good intentions with the sale of services and it seems too many as though these two are mutually exclusive: if one wants to help others so you should not have anything to show for it other than a clear conscience. The receiving aid should not have to give anything back.

As one requires something back then one is only concerned with profit and not in the actual help.
• Helps = altruistic,
• Seller = selfish.

The positive aspect of taking charge
This creates motivation both in A4R. To feel ownership of their own life is of the utmost importance in most life processes, and to charge for the service reinforces this feeling. We are all responsible for our own lives and to do the best we can to live a good life. A4R experience is that a successful life is the process that understands that there is a self who has the main responsibility for creating new career opportunities for themselves. Hence there is a great deal of positive benefits that A4R’s services cost money.

Internal Identity Crisis
This double bottom line also created something of an internal identity crisis at A4R. The motivation for conducting A4R are both in creating a solution to a social problem, and to operate an organization that manages to at least break even in the accounts. This has often led to A4R has been a bit confused. Who are looking to break even? For many, it is important that the organization is scalable and profit equals success. A4R does feels not at home and therefore underway gone from only focus on social solution to scald himself for not being more concerned with profit. Fortunately has A4R finally begun to accept that the organization does not belong to any of the categories 100 percent. A4R charge for the hours that working while A4R joyful giving – simply because it gives A4R opinion to help.

When to invent something that does not exist, so it is perhaps natural that A4R invents can get a categorization problem, since it does not already have an intended category. But maybe it’s time that A4R open tab social entrepreneurship bit more up, so that it can contain more solutions than just sell their services to various organ.
